REALLY TIRED

We have only been working 24 hours a week for a few weeks now, we go in at 8:00 and get off at 4:00. Well today we had to be there at 7:00 and didn't get off until 6:30, I am so tired. But thankfully my Sweet Hubby cooked supper, wasn't that nice of him ? I think tomorrow is going to be a little easier on us, don't get me wrong I am thankful for the work, but after not having to push real hard to get the work done that day, today was a different story.

A LITTLE THIS AND THAT

I slept late this morning and then did the laundry and some cleaning and a little sewing, the quilt is coming together, slow, but it is coming along. I talked to Caitlyn last night, she had drama competition Thursday night, she did great, First Place, so she is going to finials in March, we are so proud of her. I talked to Sammy, Amanda and their kids today, they were doing a little shopping, Pearl said she had to have new shoes, she had outgrown hers, she went from a size 10 to a size 11 1/2. She said she got tennis shoes, that sparkle and some Sunday shoes.

I DID A LITTLE SEWING TODAY

I did get a little sewing done on my quilt, as you can see. It is laying on the double bed in the sewing room, it is laying long ways, but that is going to be the width for our king size bed. I am almost half done sewing the blocks together, it is going to take more blocks then I thought, but that is OK, I have plenty of scraps.

I took the converter box back that didn't work, I got another one, with no problem. I also got an antenna for the bedroom. I didn't go anyplace but Walmart and didn't get anything but the box, antenna and some hairspray, so it didn't take long and I was back home. I live about 20 miles from town so I don't usually go but once a week. We got the box hooked up and it is working fine.

DIDN'T GET MUCH DONE

We went to Walmart today to buy a few groceries and two Digital TV Converter boxes, one seems to be working good, but the other one doesn't work at all, it has a light on it that is green if it is on and amber for standby, that is all that works on it,the amber light, so I will go back tomorrow and get another one and Pray that it works. We had Dish network but with my hours being cut at work we decided to drop it and go with free TV, makes sense to us, we didn't watch all those channels anyway. I didn't get much done on my quilt today, we got up late and then went shopping and then I called Dish, you know they tried to make us an offer we couldn't refuse, but we dropped it anyway, then we hooked up the boxes and that took a while. I hope I can get more done tomorrow and post a picture.

WEDNESDAY

We worked late tonight, an enclosure we needed to sew was overlooked, so we had to get it done. We worked until around 7:30, but we got it ready to send out tomorrow morning, we will be off now until Monday. I am planning to work on my crumb quilt tomorrow, I hope I can get a lot of it done, I am anxious to see how it will look on our bed. I will try to post some pictures.

EASY PIZZA RECIPE

I said I would share this easy pizza recipe with you. I came up with it one day when Eddie Van was here and wanted pizza, we went to the little store down the road, they had no pizza mix and no frozen pizza, so I looked for something I could make a pizza out of, I had made pizza using English Muffins, but guess what, right, they had none, so I looked and saw a few things I could use. This is what I came up with and we really enjoy it.

EASY PIZZA

FLOUR TORILLAS (8 INCH SIZE)
PEPPERONI (SLICED)
RAGU HOME STYLE PIZZA SAUCE
SHREDDED MOZZARELLA CHEESE
Put torillas on cookie sheet, spread on 2 or 3 tablespoons pizza sauce, place the pepperonis in a circle overlapping a little, top with as much cheese as you like. Bake in a 400 degree PREHEATED oven for about 8 minutes or until golden brown.
Call the Grandkids and Enjoy
MATTHEW 4; 4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but every word that proceedeth out of the month of God.

GREAT WEEKEND

Eddie Van, Pearl, Lori and Noah got here Friday afternoon around 6:00, they were glad to get here and we were just as happy for them to be here. We made homemade pizza, they always look forward to having pizza when they come here. ( I will give you our easy recipe soon). We had a fun night just hanging out. After bath time, which is always fun they all love bath time and would stay in the tub all the time if you let them, we watched some TV and then it was time for bed, will Eddie Van was going to sleep with Papa and Pearl, Lori and I were going to sleep in the other bedroom together with Noah sleeping in the crib, that didn't work so great and I ended up sleeping with Noah, Pearl and Papa in our bed and Eddie Van and Lori sleeping in the other room. We got up late and ate breakfast and played awhile and then the kids wanted the pizza that was left over, so I warmed it up for them. We took them to their other Grandparents' and went to pickup Caitlyn and Caroline. We had hamburgers and homemade frys for supper and for dessert we had apple pie, it wasn't homemade unless you count Mrs Smith frozen pie, that you bake yourself, it was really good with ice cream. After we ate we made some crayon stars, the girls had a lot of fun with that, I used foil and lined some cookie cutters, it worked OK, not great, next time I will either use the foil cupcake pans that come the different shapes or the little silicone pans that you can get at Dollar Tree. Caitlyn and Caroline didn't spend the night, Cheryl was leaving this afternoon for a retreat for church and they wanted to be home on her last night home, she will be back Wednesday afternoon. The last picture is one I took last night from our front porch, I wish those two lights from our neighbors yards were not there, but I still like the picture.

THE GRANDKIDS ARE COMING : )

Yes the Grands are coming. Sammy and Amanda are bringing their 4 this afternoon about 4:30, they will be spending the night and then tomorrow after lunch I will take them to their other Grandparents house, which is about 20 miles away, I will leave them and go another 20 miles to pick up the other 2 and then come home, which is another 20 miles. So when I get home I will have gone in a circle. It will be a busy time but we are looking forward to it. Sense the kids are out of school Monday Amanda's parents wanted to spend some time with them and that is why they are coming here and so we can spend time with them and with me working it is easier to spend time on the weekend. Jason and Cheryl are have a Valentine Banquet at their church tomorrow night so we volunteered to keep the girls and will take them to church Sunday.

BEAUTIFUL DAY AGAIN

We are having some beautiful weather, it was a little cloudy but still great. When I got home I raised a couple windows and let the fresh air in again like I did Saturday, it is so nice to have all this fresh air in the house. I left the windows open until just before dark.

Our work is still slack and we are only work 24 hours a week now. About three years ago we were working about 50 to 55 hours a week, so you can see this economy is getting to us pretty bad, but where I work we do boat enclosures and all kinds of things for boats. But GOD IS GOOD!!!! and I know he will take care of us.

But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL DAY

_____We are having some very beautiful days, I am sure we will get some more cold weather, but I love days like we are getting.
_____I went to church with Cheryl and the girls yesterday, Jason was called to work so he couldn't be there. The service was really nice, the pastor played"He Looked Beyond My Faults and Saw My Needs" on his saxophone, it was really touching and you could feel the spirit of God.Caitlyn told me I needed to come back next Sunday because she is going to sing, she said she already has the song picked out, so I be going back next Sunday. I feel like when they are 8 years old and excited about church and serving God we need to support them and show them we are there for them and we are Praying for them.
_____The six guys in the pic are very precious to me. First roll is Eddie Van, our oldest Grandson, Chandler & Weston, they are his couisins, back roll Sammy, our youngest son the Preacher, Van, his father-in-law, he is also a Preacher & Van Jr the Youth Pastor. So a lot of Prayers have been said by these guys, yes even the little ones in the front, when Eddie Van says the Blessing he will say a Blessing for everything on the table, each thing, the frys, the hot dogs, the Pepsi and every word is from the heart, so I know God hears each word. When Chandler says the Blessing not only does he pray for the food but everyone at the table, each person, one at the time, he too is Praying from the heart and I know God hears each and every word.
MATTHEW 19; 14
But Jesus said, Suffer little childern, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

BEAUTIFUL DAY

This picture was taken last summer. I can't wait until summer so we can get out like this again. However, after having snow on Tuesday it was almost 70 today. I did the laundry and cleaned up around here, I even opened a couple windows. It is always so nice to get some fresh air in the house. I also worked on the crumb quilt some. I am sure I already have enough blocks for the quilt for our bed, but I am thinking about making one for the extra bed. I need a new quilt for it anyway. I messed up the bedspread that is on that bed....... when I ironed on it..... not smart I know..... but I just needed to press a small little place and didn't want to get out the ironing broad........so it has a little melted place on it.

MORE SNOW & CRUMB QUILTING

We had snow again yesterday, that is almost like a record for us, that is a big snow flake in the picture, it almost looks like the moon. That picture was taken in our front yard before I went to work. On my way to work it was snowing really hard, it one point it was snowing and the wind was blowing so hard that it was blowing the snow off the trees and snowing at the same time, I could barely see, but I made it to work just fine and then it warmed up and most of the snow was gone before time to come home.

I posted Monday about the crumb quilt I have started, I have been working on it today and wanted to share a picture, it is just laying on the bed in my sewing room, it isn't sown together yet. I am planning on putting strips between each square, I am thinking unbleached muslin. I am going to make this one for our bed and it is a king size, I haven't made a quilt that big yet. I am going to quilt as I go, that will make it easier to handle, I hope anyway.

I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

CRUMB QUILTING

OK now that I have my fabric organized, except for all those little bitty pieces, I am going to make a crumb quilt. This should help use up some of those little bitty pieces. This is what they look like http://quiltville.com/barbscrumbs.shtml and this is a picture of one made by a lady on one for the forums I visit, scroll about halfway down the page Crumb piecing - Quilting Forum - GardenWeb.
I have put together about 40 squares so far, they are 6 1/2 inch squares.

PSALM 107
1; O give thanks unto yhe Lord, for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.
2; Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
