POCKETBOOK

Sammy gave me that beautiful charm pack for Mother's Day and I have been itching to make something with some of it. I just finsihed this pocketbook. I didn't have a pattern but I did go back and look at some of Sunday-Girls pocketbooks from a while back. I think I am go to like the size, not too big, but not too small. I really love the colors that are in this charm pack.

LORI'S DRESS

Amanda bought the pattern and the fabric to make this dress........ then she backed out and ask me to make it. I had a lot of fun making it and by the look on Lori's face I think you can say she likes it. I had enough fabric left to make a pocketbook and a change purse.

A lot of my family was able to get together yesterday. We were able to go to church together and then had dinner together in the church fellowship hall. We have been talking about all getting together for a while, but you know how hard that can be sometime, my brother and his family were not able to be there, his wife had to work, so hopefully we can do this again soon.

I GOT DRAWERS FOR MOTHER'S DAY

I have been needing to organize my sewing area better for a while (and yes I need to vacuum), so I ask Eddie for drawers for Mother's Day, to put my thread and other things in, he is always happy for me to tell him what I want or need that way he doesn't have to shop around thinking of something. I still have a lot of organizing to do, but you can see my machine embroidery thread in one drawer and my serger thread in another one and in another is woolly nylon thread, I use that for rolled hems on things like baby blankets. In that drawer I also have interfacing and a few more things. There is four drawers as you can see, I didn't open the top one but it has several different things in it that I need for sewing, like straight pins, ink pens and patterns.

I just got an order of embroidery thread this week, I have been getting it at Walmart for a little over $ 4.00 or New Bern Fabric Center for a little over $ 5.00, I ordered this from Threadarthttp://www.threadart.com/shop/category.asp?catid=7 for $1.65 a spool and it works great so I am going to be ordering from there when I need more.

CRUMB QUILT FINALLY FINISHED :D

Do you remember the crumb quilt I was working on.?.......well I finally finished it, so I am sharing pics of it. I took a picture from one side and then the other,it is so big that is the only way I could get a picture of all of it, I also took one of the label. I think this may be the only king size quilt I will be making!!!! I think I will stick with lap size, they are so much easier and lighter to work on. But I think we will enjoy this colorful quilt on our bed, I can look at it and remember all the quilts I have made, it has sooooo many pieces of fabric from the quilts I have made for the kids and grands.

But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

TGIF

This has been a busy week, I haven't been feeling good at all.......so I went to the doctor today, I needed my blood pressure med prescription renewed away and Eddie had a check up. So when we got there I ask if I could be seen too. She said my sinuses are really stopped up and gave me a round of amoxicillin. She also said the arthritis in my left knee is worse then in my right knee that is why it is swollen so much. She said if I could go to the swimming pool the exercise in the water would be good for it. I told Eddie we were going to have to get a pool, she laughed and said I really picked up on that fast.
Cheryl is still trying to get caught up from be off so long with her kidney stone, but she is doing pretty good. I don't think you can even tell that Noah had been sick. Kids really can get well so fast.
I think I may have said something about one of the guys I work with needing surgery on his back. Well he had that surgery yesterday, it went okay, but he had a lot of bleeding during the surgery, so they had to go slow, it took 6 1/2 hours, he was in ICU and on the ventilator for a while last night, but they put him in a room this morning. Then when I talked to him this afternoon he said he was doing pretty good, they had already had him up for a walk. GOD IS GOOD !!!!!!
