MY FARBIC STASH

This is what I have been working on today, trying to get my fabric stash organized, I was visiting amandajean at http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/ , and she had a link to http://thehappyzombie.com/blog/?p=124 , she has a very neat way to fold fabric, I followed it for the pieces that were at least a yard, they are in the first picture, and then in the next picture, they are less then a yard, but I still used the same ruler and then just folded it in thirds, I think they turned out pretty good, this isn't all of the fabric I have, but the other pieces are larger, I used the cardboard that they have the fabric on in the store to wrap it around, then pulled it out and folded it in half, I have them stored in a larger container.

DOCTOR VISIT & GROCERY SHOPPING

Eddie had to go to the doctors office today to have some blood work done, just a check up due to some medicine he is taking. So we went to the Piggy Wiggly to buy groceries, they had some good sells going on. We had steak for supper, we have both been wanting one for awhile, but I just can't bring myself to pay that high price, but we got a package with two steaks NY Strips for six dollars and some change, I thought that was good, so we got them, boy oh boy,were they gooood. We also got some fish, they are small croakers. When we got home I repacked them and put them in the freezer, they will be good fried in my new cast iron skillet Eddie gave me for Christmas. We also a package of ham that I repacked and then put in the freezer, that will be good and fast to fix after work with a veggie or two. I like to buy large packages when I can and repack them, I feel like I can save some money that way.

Blessings

These pictures were taken last summer, the Grands were helping out in the garden, they are a big help and love to see what Paw-Paw is growing, he does the garden and loves it, he is getting his seeds ready for the spring. The containers you see were something new he tried last summer, He really liked them and will be using them again this summer. He grew some really beautiful and good tomatoes in them, as well as more delicious things.

ANOTHER APRON

A friend called me at just before Christmas and ask me to make him an apron and told me he would pay me for it. I told him it would be after Christmas and he said that was fine. I posted a picture of it a week or so ago, he did pay me for it, and ask me to make one for one of his friends and paid me for it as well. Well the lady I work for saw the last one I made and ask me to make her one too. So I have now made three. I am showing you the machine embroidery I put on hers, I will take it to her tomorrow. I guess if the economy gets too bad I can do some sewing on the side, maybe we wouldn't starve to death.

It has been a cloudy day all day today, they say we might it a little sleet tonight, I am ready for some warmer weather, like SPRING.
GENESIS 3; 7
And the eyes ot them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

After the snow we had Tuesday, it was in the 40's today, all the snow is gone and we had a much warmer day, we are suppose to get rain tomorrow, that means it will be another good day to sew, I am working on some things for the Grands for Valentines Day, I worked on one today and almost have it finished, so just five more to go. I finished another apron Wednesday and now I have one more to make. I also made a scarf yesterday, I will post a picture maybe tomorrow. I am planning on making one more so I can post both pictures at the same time.

LET IT SNOW ! ! LET IT SNOW ! ! !

We finally got some snow, we rarely get snow here, so when we do it makes us sooooo happy. When I first got up around 6 this morning it wasn't snowing, then when I looked out about twenty minutes later it was snowing real good and the ground was covered. They told us to come on in to work, but it kept snowing so at lunch they let us come home. I took advantage of being home and baked a cake, then I worked on another apron, it is all finished except for the name I am going to embroidery on it. I am sure for some you that live up north this doesn't look like much snow, but to us it is a good snow.Both of these pictures were taken behind the house, in the second one you can see the Grands swing and toys and our swing we rest in while the kids are running all over the place.

ISAIAH 1; 18

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

WORSHIP TOGETHER ! ! ! !

We went to Sammy and Amanda's today, Jason and Cheryl and the girls went too, as a matter of fact we rode with them, it is sooooo good to be able to go and be with all the kids in only an hour and a half and not the 6 hours it did take. We were able to go to church at Sammy's new church. I really Love to be able to worship with our two sons and their families. Sammy called Friday and said he would cook a roast if I would fix green beans and corn, both of which Eddie grew in his garden, Sammy made a delicious roast, rice and rolls, that was so good along with the green beans and corn, Amanda made a yummy cake and some brownies. The kids had so much fun playing with each other.

It has been raining here today, but at least it has been a little warmer, our average is around 55 degrees this time of year so when we had a few days in the 30 and 20's for a high and even lower at night,we thought we would freeze.

PSALM 95; 6
O come let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.

BABY IT IS COLD !!!!!!

Today's high was 28 degrees, that is cold for here, it is cold for anywhere. But it was a good day to stay inside and sew and stay warm. I made taco's for supper, we had a salad to go with them, they are always good, but especially on a cold day.

PHILIPPIANS 4; 13
I can do all things through Christ which strengthenth me.

Blankets, Bib & Burp Cloth

I said I would be showing you some of the things I am useing my thread for, so here are a few things. I am going to help a friend with a baby shower for her daughter tomorrow and this will be the gift. I did the rolled hem on the blankets and a little machine embroidery. For the burp cloth and the bib I guess you can say I did am own version of the rolled hem, I wanted the stitch to be wide enough to hold the front and back together and I think it will work fine.

But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little childern to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

THURSDAY

We got off work at lunch today, so I went to the bank and then went and got groceries and some BBQ for a late lunch. When I got home and after unloading the groceries Eddie said the thread I ordered Tuesday came, I think that was really fast. I have been needing some thread to match the wholly nylon I have, I use it to do a rolled hem on baby blankets, I will post pictures of a couple I am working on in a day or two. Here is where I ordered it from
http://sewtrue.com/, the day I ordered it it was $1.85 each spool.

We are going to get some cold weather here, it will not be as cold as some of you up north are getting, but the teens are cold for here.

Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

MONDAY

I had a pretty busy weekend, along with making this apron for a friend, I hemmed four pair for pants for another friend and started on some baby blankets for a shower this Saturday. I also cooked a big pot of collards with fatback and pig tails( real good for the ole cholesterol) I also fixed potato salad and deviled eggs and cornbread, we had that Saturday and Sunday. This afternoon I fixed fried fish, I can say we have been eating pretty good the last few days.

The move is going real good for Sammy and his family, they are pretty much moved in, Eddie Van and Pearl started their new school today, Amanda said that went really good, I am sure they will be making a lot of new friends. She said church went really good yesterday, and said they had several visitors for their first Sunday. Sammy was looking at the church registry the other day and saw the name of a guy that he worked with at the grocery store a few years back, they went to see him one day last week, Sammy was happy to find out that he already knew someone at the church.

THURSDAY

I talked to Sammy awhile ago, they were almost to their new house. Eddie Van said his friends from school made him a nice book for him to keep and remember them by. Pearl said her friends made her some pretty things and said bye. They were riding in the moving truck with Sammy, they both said it sounded real funny when they blew the horn.

We had a lot of strong winds here yesterday, the lights were out for about two hours yesterday afternoon and then again several time last night, but they didn't stay off, only blinking on and off, we kept setting the clocks. We didn't have any damage ourselves but there was some in the area.

MONDAY

'2009' That seems so unbelievable, but here we are in a new year, we have to wonder what this year will bring. I know God is with us and will keep us, we will learn new things and go new places.

I have already said that Caroline's birthday is the day after Christmas, along with Papa's, but her birthday party was this past Saturday, this is only a couple of the many pictures we took, as you can see they all had a good time, we all had a good time.

I went back to work today, the first time this year, it was good to get back in the swing of things. Christy wasn't there, she went to the doctor with her daughter, they were going to find out if she was having a boy or girl, but her blood sugar was way too low, so they didn't get to find out, please keep her in your Prayers, I am not sure what they are going to do about this thing with her sugar.

BLESSED & HAPPY NEW YEAR

~~~I AM PRAYING FOR A BLESSED NEW YEAR FOR ONE & ALL ~~~
Well I finally took the tree down today and got all the stuff put away. I need to do some serious organizing, but that will have to wait for another day. I have been going through my yarn, I make hats on a loom knitter, I have a small container almost full, so I am making a few hats to carry to the hospital to donate for chemo patience, so far I have made five and hope to make about three more.
I am sharing a couple more pictures, I thought the one of Eddie & Caitlyn was so cute. she really loves her Papa. She also loves to give makeovers, this is her with her Aunt Amanda, she not only did her makeup, but she also did her hair, isn't she 'BEAUTIFUL'!
