Pretty Sunset

I went to take Jack out around 5:00 this afternoon and this is what I saw.....this beautiful sunset.....God is So Good............................................................................

The snow is still hanging around....it is melting slowly....seems like very slowly..........I cut a couple oranges in half and put them in the yard for the birds.....I haven't seen them go to them yet......Jack takes a lick off them every time he goes out......

I Packed Away the CHRISTmas Decorations

I packed away the CHRISTmas decorations today,now I am tired,I really didn't put too much up...but it seems like it took a long time taking it down and putting it away,maybe that has something to do with age ;(......but I wont say too much about that.......
I am off all this week.....I really enjoy staying home....... Saturday I cooked a large meal...ham, dressing, collards, egg gravy,we also had cranberry sauce and rolls.......we ate that Saturday, Sunday and Monday...then I froze what was left.....tonight we had hamburgers and frys...it was nice having something different......don't get me worry the ham and all the trimmings were really good and it was good not having to cook every meal.......
The snow is still hanging around....it has melted some today.....but they say it is going to be 67 degrees here Friday......so it should be all gone by then.....

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday...it was my yearly checkup...it went okay....but he told me I need to loose weight....if not... I could be taxed by our insurance company...please keep me in your Prayers...I know I would feel better if I lost some weight...now I guess I have another reason for loosing it...maybe that will help me and keep me motivated so I can loose it. I also have to go get another bone density test....I have osteoporosis so they want to check to see how well my meds are working.

IT HAS BEEN TOO LONG !!!!!!

I have had a busy summer........best of all our oldest son was baptisted...I really Praise the Lord for that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I have been doing some canning.....this is 6 of 8 jars of pickled orka that I have put up.......

We have been enjoying our grapes............

We also enjoyed the blueberries.....I made 2 or 3 of these cobblers........

We are now getting peanuts......we enjoy them boiled.........

And to introduce you to the newest member of the family....Jack....he is 7 weeks old...he is a Jack Russell Fist mix.......and a ball of fire...but sooooo sweet.........

This was Jason, Cheryl, Caitlyn and Caroline's 1st meeting with Jack.......And this is Noah, Lori, Pearl and Eddie Van's 1st time seeing him........This is his quilt that I made him...every good fur baby needs his own quilt......



I hope to be visiting more often ....I have missed you all......

Noah's birthday is the 17th...but we waited until today to have his party.........we had a good time....then went camping last night and we were going to go there for the party....but there were so many jellyfish in the water .......and it is sooooooooo hot the party was moved to Amanda's parents house........and then it rained today...so God was looking out for us...it was inside not outside..........thank God for AC........

CANNING

I canned these today.....I got 8 pints & 1 half pint........I cut them into chunks and then put them in my little hand crank shredder....put them in a pot and heated them through......(looked and looked for my little weight that goes on my pressure canner....I can never find it when I need it).....anyway after I found it I pressured them on 5 pounds of pressure like the book said for 15 minutes......and now we are getting a summer storm.....rain, thunder..the whole 9 yards......

we really need the rain...and I have a chicken in the pot......stewing slowly.....I am going to fix chicken and rice and some chicken salad......

Week Off

With 6 grandkids it takes a lot of these....all though only 4 on them need to use one now......this one was missing the pad...so I made one for it....I think it will work okay......I used some fabirc I had in my stash...and then sewed velcro on to hold it on.........

WALLHANGING

I am off this week.....it seems sooooo good to have some time off......this is what I did today.....you may remember those cheater squares my sister sent me a while back......this is one of them....I just stitched around the little squares and sewed the back on with little triangles to hold a dowel rod to hang it with.....
We had corn, cucumbers and tomatoes fresh from the garden and country ham and biscuits for supper.....I love fresh veggies from the garden......makes it sooo easy to cook.
